Wildcat basketball teams into District 6 tourney next week
CRESSON, PA – District 6 on Thursday announced next week’s basketball playoff schedule for the Districts 4-6 postseason. They show the Central Mountain Wildcat teams with semifinals, the top-seeded boys (20-2) at home on Wednesday and the third-seeded Lady Wildcats (7-15) on the road next Tuesday.
The Wildcat boys will host #4 seed Hollidaysburg (10-12) at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The other Wednesday semifinal will see #2 seed Selinsgrove (14-8) host three-seed Bellefonte (12-10). Wednesday winners will play at 3 p.m. Saturday at Mount Aloysius for the district title. The Wildcats are the defending district champions.
The boys’ district titlist is to later host the seventh-place team from District 3 in a first-round PIAA playoff game.
The Central Mountain girls will play Tuesday at 7 p.m. at #3 seed Shikellamy (12-10). The other district semifinal that night shows Hollidaysburg (22-0) hosting Selinsgrove (5-17). The girls’ championship is set for Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Mount Aloysius.
Meanwhile coach Tyler Bardo’s boys’ team will play this Friday night at 7:30 p.m. for the Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference postseason tourney title. The Wildcats will play Shamokin (17-6). The two teams split their two regular season meetings.
