LH women’s basketball edged at ESU, 42-37
EAST STROUDSBURG, PA – The Lock Haven University women’s basketball team (7-11, 5-8 PSAC) was edged out by host East Stroudsburg (11-8, 7-6 PSAC), 42-37, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division clash that featured a defensive battle.
Lock Haven and East Stroudsburg were originally scheduled to play Wednesday, but the game was postponed, and moved to Thursday because of the snowstorm that moved through the region.
Leading the way for Lock Haven was Brooke Lawyer (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) and Alana Robinson (Rockaway, N.J./Pope John Paul II).
Lawyer led LHU with nine points and Robinson had another all-around sensational individual game.
Robinson finished with seven points, seven rebounds, three steals, and two blocks. She now has 38 blocks on the season, the second most my any player in the PSAC.
Carly Fitzmorris (Hamburg, N.J./Pope John XXIII) added six points for Lock Haven and Jenadia Jordan (Lititz, Pa./Linden Hall) had five rebounds. Jackie Fetsko (Marion Center, Pa./Marion Center) added five points and four rebounds.
Host East Stroudsburg was led by Shyla Sanford who netted 20 points.
The Bald Eagles will be right back at it on Saturday as they return home to host Shippensburg University at 1 p.m. in Thomas Fieldhouse in PSAC East play.
