Wildcats advance two to quarterfinals at powerful Powerade
CANONSBURG, PA – The Powerade wrestling tournament, midway through its first day, proved to be a challenge for all involved, as expected. The Central Mountain Wildcats advanced two wrestlers to the Thursday night quarterfinals while another four CM wrestlers remained alive in the consolations.
Moving into the round of eight were Dalton Perry at 133 pounds and Luke Simcox at 139 pounds, the two wrestlers reversing weights from their previous December appearances. Four other Wildcats lost in the round of 16 and will be in consolation round four Thursday evening.
Private school powers Malvern Prep and Wyoming Seminary lead in the team race with 95 and 93 points respectively. Central Mountain is 27th place with 43.5 points in the 66-team affair drawing squads from ten states.
