Obituary
Ruth P. Heckel, 94, of Lock Haven, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Susque View Home, Lock Haven.
Born December 16, 1928 in Jersey Shore, she was the daughter of the late John and Hazel Felmy.
Ruth was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School.
On June 30, 1955 she married Robert B. Heckel, who preceded her in death on December 23, 1990.
Ruth was employed as a Manager at J.J. Newberry’s store in Jersey Shore for many years until her retirement.
She was an active and faithful member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, Flemington.
Ruth was also an active member and held different officer positions with the Women’s Jersey Shore Loyal Order Of The Moose.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Brocius and Florence Doyle; and three brothers, Charles, Harry “Buck,” and John Felmy.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 23, 2022 at 11 A.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745.
Private burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park.Friends and family will be received for a time of viewing on Friday from 10 A.M. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to St. Luke’s United Church of Christ.
