Rugged weather Thursday in central PA
LOCK HAVEN, PA – True to predictions, Thursday has proved to be difficult in Clinton County and environs in terms of dealing with a winter storm which came in overnight and won’t leave until early Friday.
Some schools are closed, some online for the day. Snow emergencies are in effect in multiple municipalities and many businesses are closed. There also is a report of a major pile-up on Interstate 80 between the Lock Haven and Loganton exits, but no details were immediately available.
The National Weather Service in State College says its storm warning is in effect until noon on Friday. The NWS late Thursday morning forecast for Lock Haven called for 3 to 5 inches of snow during the day with less than an inch additional Thursday night. The precipitation should end before noon on Friday and temperatures are to be in the mid-30s.
