County Looking for No Tax Hike Budget
LOCK HAVEN – The Clinton County Commissioners Thursday gave an update on a proposed 2014 budget, one they indicated would not include a real estate tax increase.
Board chairman Jeff Snyder announced the commissioners “are not anticipating a tax increase.”
The commissioners had indicated earlier in the week a budget introduction would come Thursday, but said because negotiations with the county’s unionized workers are still on-going, they will delay presentation until Thursday, Dec. 5, their next regularly scheduled meeting; a special meeting will be called for Dec. 30 for final adoption.
A year ago the commissioners jumped the real estate millage nearly 15 percent.
