Grand opening held Monday for new Fine Wine & Good Spirits in Lock Haven

PLCB board chairman Tim Holden did the scissor honors to officially open the state’s new Fine Wine & Good Spirits store in Clinton Plaza, Lock Haven.

LOCK HAVEN, PA  – The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board on Monday opened its newest Fine Wine & Good Spirits store at Clinton Plaza, 120 E. Walnut St. in Lock Haven. .

A host of local dignitaries joined store employees as PLCB board chairman Tim Holden cut the ceremonial ribbon to mark the state store’s new location. Holden praised the new store for its “consumer convenience,” noting its expanded product line and “warmer” atmosphere than its previous location on E. Main St. in Lock Haven.

With more than 4,500 square feet of retail space, the store features nearly 3,250 wines and spirits. A wine-sampling was held for the two hours before Monday’s 4 p.m. ribbon-cutting.

To celebrate the grand opening, all in-store wines, spirits, and accessories will be 10% off during regular business hours from Monday through Wednesday, March 16.

A state release said the store features promotional items and educational materials for customers such as:

  • Answers to frequently asked questions about wine and spirits
  • Food pairing information
  • A party planning guide
  • A calorie chart
  • Tips for responsible hosting and consumption
  • Material from the PLCB’s award-winning Know When. Know How.SM alcohol education campaign

The store has a “Made in Pennsylvania” section to highlight wines and spirits produced in the commonwealth. Also, this store sells Pennsylvania Lottery tickets.

Per the PLCB release, throughout design and construction, the PLCB was committed to developing a store that is attractive and environmentally responsible. The majority of store lighting is state-of-the-art LED or energy-efficient compact-fluorescent lighting, using a fraction of the energy of traditional lighting.
