Main Street is booming: The Collection to open Saturday

LOCK HAVEN – Main Street in downtown Lock Haven is the most recent recipient of yet another new business sprouting out of this cold and snowy winter.

The Collection started as an idea between friends Sarah O’Brien Nestor and Renee Serafini. “We had this idea following the holiday pop-up shop we had for Small Business Saturday,” said Sarah. “It is a location to feature our products and for others to feature theirs.”

“During the early days of COVID,” Sarah explained, “we realized that something the community needed was a location for vendors to set up shop since many vendor and craft fairs had been canceled in the area.”

Sarah, a full-time nurse, mother of three and self-described “Polish Junkie for Color Street”; and Renee, a full-time teacher, Body Shop Consultant, taxi for her children’s many sports, and dog mom, had a vision to open a shop where small business owners, MLM (multi-level marketing), direct sales, and resellers, can feature their products.

“This space is versatile, can be permanent, semi-permanent, or a pop-up,” the Facebook Group boasted.

“The goal was Main Street,” Sarah explained. “We want to be a part of it all, so we got the space for people (vendors) to set-up and leave if they want to…if someone wants to be a part of the downtown, this location is prime.”

If someone wants to become a vendor at The Collection, please find “The Collection” Facebook Group (see link below) where there is a special registration page that the seller can outline who they are, the products they sell, and the month(s) they would like space in the shop. “People can also message us on our own personal Facebook pages,” Sarah said.

As part of the grand opening celebration, shoppers can enter their name at the store for a free giveaway basket drawing that will be held on Saturday, February 26.
