Arts Council Third Prime Exhibit 10/17 – 11/8
Opening reception: Friday, October 17 from 6 to 9 p.m.
LOCK HAVEN – The exhibit will feature five artists – Amy Abbatoir, Carol Ann Simon Cillo, Steve Getz, Michael LeKites and Tom Worth – who are all accomplished painters who have explored a wide range of painting styles, even among their own works.
Employing a range of ideas from highly realistic renderings to abstracts, each artist has tried to sample various methods to express their own artistic visions. This exhibit shows a full palette of ideas including landscapes with bright invigorating colors, or dark and moody ones. The imagery can be blurred or detailed. Concepts include insightful portraiture, flights of fancy and purely abstract explorations of concept through painted mixed media.
The exhibit provides a wide choice of artwork to enjoy. Don’t miss seeing it.
About the artists
Amy Abattoir
Amy lives and paints in Milton, PA. She enjoys pushing traditional visual references of figures and landscapes to new places through experimentation with color and mood. She has studied at Parsons School of Design in Paris and the Art Students League of New York. She has shown in various locations in central PA.
Carol Ann Simon Cillo
Carol likes to explore using various media. Currently working with paint and clay, she often aligns the work with graphic additions or the written word. She finds this variety helps to eliminate the traditional boundaries of color, texture and technique to create the final image. Carol received her art degree from Edinboro University of PA.
Michael LeKites
Michael describes himself as “just a guy who likes to paint.” He has been a prolific painter, working in both oil and acrylic media. He has been a highly detailed painter of realism, but can also work in a more simplified and contemporary handling of those subjects. His landscapes show the beauty of the landscape, town and country. He is a graduate of Edinboro University of PA.
Steve L. Getz
Steve has pursued art through graphic design and painting. Painting with oils on canvas or board, he also uses digital media on the computer to create his graphic images. His work employs painterly brushstrokes made by hand, in a classic manner; or he uses the graphic pen and tablet to work on digital pieces. Steve graduated from Lycoming College.
Tom Worth
Tom was born with a strong desire to be creative and his interest in art continued to grow throughout life. He is a self-taught painter, and earned a degree in advertising design from the Pennsylvania College of Technology. Working as an artist throughout his life, he has many works in private collections. He currently lives and works
