Tuesday report: State COVID cases, hospitalizations spike

HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Tuesday reported 7,442 new COVID-19 cases, an increase of better than 2,000 from Monday.

Hospitalizations across the state totaled 4,694, up 152 from Monday, while those in intensive care units numbered 963, up 25 from Monday.

Clinton County reported seven new cases for a total of 6,406 cases; the seven new cases is the lowest since six were recorded on Oct. 12. In Centre County 52 new cases were recorded for a total of 24,025. Lycoming County added 67 new cases for a total of 20,711

The state Tuesday reported 113 new deaths. The death count in Clinton County increased by one to 98.
