Monday report: State COVID cases drop

HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Monday reported 5,395 new COVID-19 cases, the lowest one day amount since Dec. 6.

Hospitalizations across the state totaled 4,542, up 41 from Sunday, while those in intensive care units numbered 938, down four from Sunday.

Clinton County reported 17 new cases for a total of 6,399 cases; the 17 figure is the lowest since 14 were recorded on Dec. 7. In Centre County 54 new cases were recorded for a total of 23,973. Lycoming County added 22 new cases for a total of 20,644.

The state Monday reported two new deaths. The death count in Clinton County remained at 97.
