Clinton County lags Centre, Lycoming in percentage of population vaccinated

LOCK HAVEN, PA – Most recent information from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) shows Clinton County continues to lag behind its neighboring counties in terms of population vaccinated against COVID-19.

Based on information from the Clinton County Economic Partnershp, according to the state’s COVID-19 Data Dashboard, 15,930 people in Clinton County are fully vaccinated, with 5,158 of them having received an additional shot (vaccine booster) since August, 13 (the CDC says 44.6% of Clinton County residents age 12 and older are fully vaccinated). A total of 89,121 people in Centre County are fully vaccinated and 25,470 have received a COVID-19 booster shot (CDC data says 58.5% of those 12 and older in Centre are fully vaccinated). In Lycoming County, 54,084 are fully vaccinated, with 16,558 having received a booster shot since mid-August (the CDC lists 52.7% of Lycoming residents age 12 and older as being fully vaccinated).

Additionally, data from the CDC’s Covid Data Tracker system puts Clinton County’s percent positivity at 14.93% (nearly three times the level considered as evidence of significant spread). Centre County is at 15.67% positivity and Lycoming County is at 21.74% positivity.

New cases of COVID reported by the state on Wednesday are an additional 30 in Clinton County, 125 in Centre County and 96 in Lycoming County.
