State, county COVID case update


HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Sunday reported 5,417 new COVID-19 cases, a third straight day of decline.

3,097 COVID patients are hospitalized in the state, up two from Saturday and the highest number since last spring. Those in intensive care on Sunday numbered 734, down four from Saturday.

Clinton County reported 35 new cases for a second day in a row for a total of 5,811. In Centre County 74 new cases were recorded for a total of 22,188. Lycoming County added 91 new cases for a total of 18,695.

The state Sunday reported 13 new deaths. The death count in Clinton County remained at 86.
