Clinton County’s November primary: mail-in ballot requests in the mail
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Clinton County voter registrar Maria Boileau has provided the community an update on the approaching Nov. 2 municipal election. She told the county commissioners at their work session on Monday that 1,452 mail-in ballots requested so far were mailed out Friday and they should be received this week.
Boileau said the county has placed a secured ballot box in front of the county’s Piper Building to receive those ballots, noting the box is emptied two to three times every day and is under 24-hour camera surveillance. Oct. 26 is the last date to request a mail-in or absentee ballot and Oct. 18l is the last day to register to vote.
Her report said that sample ballots are now posted on the county website and poll-workers are needed for Porter and Allison townships, other county precincts staffed.
The voting official said there are 21,885 county residents registered to vote. These include 11,829 Republicans; 7,233 Democrats; 117 Libertarians; 25 Green Party; and the rest “others.”
She said information on registering to vote or update a registration is available on the state and county websites or by calling her Piper Building office at 570-893-4011.
There are relatively few contested races across the county on Nov. 2. Current county treasurer Michelle Kunes and coroner Zach Hanna are both unopposed for new four-year terms. There is a race for mayor of Renovo involving incumbent Mayor Tommy Tarantella Jr. (D) and Gene Bruno (R).
