COVID cases jump 25 in Clinton County; highest state hike since April

HARRISBURG, PA – The COVID-19 case trend in Clinton County and across the state is going in the wrong direction. The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Thursday reported 5,786 new COVID-19 cases across the state, the most since April 13.

In Clinton County 25 new cases were reported on Thursday, bringing the total to 4,071. The jump in cases is the largest one-day hike during the recent uptick in the county and the highest one day total since spring. Centre County saw an increase of 25 to 18,577, while Lycoming County increased by 81 to 13,434.

There are 2,323 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19 statewide, down 10 from Wednesday. Of that number, 560 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19, down four from Wednesday. 277 were on ventilators, down three from the previous day. .

72 new deaths were reported by the state; the death count in Clinton County remained at 69 through Wednesday.
