Jaycee Regatta #50: Almost show time
LOCK HAVEN, PA – The Susquehanna River came up a bit overnight, but preparations continued Friday for the start of the 50th annual Lock Haven Area Jaycees Labor Day Regatta.
COVID-19 prevented the running of the powerboats in 2020, but the remnants of Hurricane Ida were not enough to deter the 50th staging of the Regatta, officially beginning with opening ceremonies Saturday at 10 a.m., followed by three days of racing.
The Jaycees say there are many special activities planned along with what will be the organization’s largest fireworks show ever on Sunday at 10:30 p.m. As always the event will feature its Water Street midway, arts and crafts, live music, carnival rides and great food.
