School District Says Good News on Test Scores Coming
FARWELL – The Keystone Central School District made its first public comment on the most recent round of state-mandated testing of district students and district officials promise considerable improvement over the district performance a year ago.
Board president Jack Peters announced at Thursday’s school board meeting that while the state will not be releasing the results for a few days, the district has seen the scores and he said they show “much, much improvement.”
Peters called the improvement “tremendous” and thanked the large delegation of district teachers and administrators present at the board meeting at Bucktail High School. Superintendent Kelly Hastings echoed those remarks.
While the district has not disclosed the results, “therecord-online” has learned that while only two of the district’s 10 schools had achieved “adequate yearly performance” in the previous school year, seven of 10 achieved that performance level last year.
