Lady Bucks down Northwest, 11-1
FARWELL, PA – Bucktail junior Emma Poorman followed up her Monday no-hitter with a Wednesday 1-hitter as she went the distance in the Lady Bucks’ 11-1 six inning win over visiting Northwest.
With the win, the team’s fifth in a row, Bucktail is 14-4 with one regular season game to go, at Benton (0-13) on Thursday. Bucktail is ranked third currently in the District 4 Class A standings. Word is due soon on postseason play.
The Lady Bucks pounded out 11 hits as they scored in five of the six innings. Haley Burrows led the way with three singles and two RBIs. RaiLeigh Isaacs and Makenzie Wagner each had two hits, Isaacs with a double and two RBIs, Wagner with two more runs batted in. Poorman chipped in with a double and an RBI, Julie Green with a single and three RBIs and Jordan Burrows with a single and an RBI; Lily Francis was in with a single and an RBI.
Poorman struck out nine and gave up only the one hit, a single.
