LCB says too soon to say when new Lock Haven State Store site will be ready
HARRISBURG, PA – A spokesperson for the state Liquor Control Board has provided updated information on the LCB Wednesday approval relocating the Lock Haven state liquor store from E. Main Street to the Clinton Plaza.
Elizabeth Brassell, Director of Policy and Communications, informed therecord-online on Thursday that the LCB approval now goes to the state’s Department of Genera lServices for consideration, likely at its June meeting.
Brassell said should DGS approve the new lease, the LCB will begin working on designing the new store and laying out a plan for construction. She said it is too soon to tell when the new store might replace the downtown store.
The new Clinton Plaza site, off E. Walnut Street, previously housed a CVS drug store.
The current state store has been at its E. Main Street location since 1973, previously located across the street from the current site. The current location has been leased from longtime owner Ronnie Pete, a former local resident now residing in southeastern Pennsylvania. It is understood that Pete was unaware a relocation was under consideration.
