Chuck “Gootsie” Severino – Obituary

Chuck Severino, better known as “Gootsie”, age 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 10, 2021. He was born November 4, 1939 in Lock Haven, PA to the late John B. and Philomena C. Severino. Along with his parents, Gootise is preceded in death by his former wife, Betty Johnson Severino; brother, Joe “Sonny” Severino; sisters, Betty June Kurtz and Rosemary Resetar.

He is survived by his brother, Bill Severino of Lakeshore Drive, New York; sister, Rita Miller of Mill Hall Pennsylvania; children, Angela Marquis of Pensacola, Florida, Tony (Betsy) Severino of Newnan, GA; grandchildren, Kyle, Matthew and Jennifer Marquis, Katelyn (Josh) Kessinger and Nicholas Severino. He is also survived by two great grandchildren, Ella and Walker Kessinger, numerous nieces and nephews, and god daughter Connie Rae Tarantella.

Chuck was a proud Navy veteran which he served 20 years until his retirement in 1979. He had worked previously at Berwick, Chemcon and retired from International Paper Mill. He spent most of his life in Renovo, Pennsylvania which he truly loved. He spent the last four years of his life in Newnan, Georgia due to health reasons, but was he was always from Renovo. He spoke highly of Renovo and how good everyone was to him. He was a faithful Catholic and loved St. Joes. He truly loved his family and friends and will be dearly missed.

A celebratory Mass will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 12:30 PM at St. Joes Catholic Church.
