Milton Spoils Lady ‘Cat Senior Day, 7-1
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Central Mountain goalkeeper Madison Briggs and a couple Lady ‘Cat defenders could do little more than watch as the soccer ball emerged from a scrum in front of the net and rolled slowly but surely across the goal line. That first goal, early in the contest, set the tempo Saturday as Milton opened up a 6-1 halftime line and went home a 7-1 winner, spoiling senior day for the Lady Wildcats.
Central Mountain struggled to get its offense untracked, held to one well executed goal late in the first half: Avery Baker fed Abby Brinker for the score. Baker and Ava Renninger had a couple scoring opportunities during the course of the game, but could not quite connect.
Milton had a 17-6 edge in shots on goal and two to zero in corner kicks.
Central Mountain honored the senior members of the squad in a pregame ceremony for their contributions to the program that included: Avery Baker, Hayle McCollin, Dammaris Hall, Abby Brinker, Bailey Brungard, Olivia Miller, Ithica Phillips, Jocelyn Renninger.
The Lady Wildcats, now 0-4, will be right back in action Monday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m., hosting Selinsgrove.
