CM Girls’ Tennis Continue Winning Season 4-0
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The Central Mountain girls’ tennis team continued its dominant run through the Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference on Tuesday, picking up a 5-0 home court win over visiting Milton. The Lady Wildcats are off to a 4-0 start and stand 19-1 in sets played so far.
Central Mountain won up and down the line-up, but head coach Pete Wert made particular mention of his number two doubles team. Zeta Blesh and Bree Weaver saw their first varsity action of the year and responded with a 2-0 sweep of Milton’s Lydia Crawford and Addy Ayala. It was the way they did it that drew Wert’s attention. After winning the first set by a 6-2 score, the Lady ‘Cat twosome trailed 5-2 in the second set, but climbed back for a 7-5 win.
Central Mountain will stay busy this week, Wednesday at Jersey Shore at 4 p.m., Thursday at Shikellamy, then home Saturday for an 11 a.m. contest with Loyalsock.
