He was born on January 22, 1946, the son of the late Morrill Stuart and Mary Blanche Kane Bickford.
Roger was a 1964 graduate of Lock Haven High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1965 to 1969.
On April 6, 1968 at the Great Island Presbyterian Church in Lock Haven, he married the love of his life, the former Linda K. Lininger, who survives.
Roger graduated from Lock Haven State Teachers College in 1972. He worked at Piper Aircraft in Lock Haven from 1973 to 1984, Turner Motors in Mill Hall from 1984 to 1985, and Diebold Inc. from 1985 until his retirement in 2001.
Roger was a member of Great Island Presbyterian Church, Lock Haven.
He was a motorcycle enthusiast and loved riding and spending time with his close friends. He enjoyed going to his camp and watching the Pirates and Phillies baseball games. He also adored the time he spent with his daughter and her family.
In addition to his wife, Roger is survived by his daughter, Mary S. (Thomas) Casilio of Lock Haven; and his two grandchildren, Taylor and Cameron Casilio.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington with Pastor Benjamin Lins officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given through the funeral home to the LHU Foundation, American Diabetes Association or the charity of the donor’s choice.
