Crickets Advance in Region 7
CLEARFIELD – The Sr. Cricket American Legion team is still alive in Region 7 action defeating Bedford 9-7 on Tuesday.
With the win, Beech Creek will play Murrysville at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014. Murrysville was a 10-0 mercy rule winner over Claysburg. winner over. Should the crickets prevail over Murrysville, they would play a second and final game against Claysburg for the championship.
Caleb Seyler was the winning pitcher throwing the first seven innings while Toner Corl stepped in to close out the game for the final two innings.
Clayton Butler was the offensive leader on the day contributing a double, a single with 2RBIs and scoring twice.Chuck Probst and Drew Nyman each had two singles on the day.
