Thursday afternoon the Lock Haven Book Club welcomed local author Tammy Garrison to the club’s monthly gathering at the Dutch Haven Restaurant. The Book Club was reading a recently published book by Garrison entitled, “The Twisted Blackmailer – Watson and Holmes, Book 1.”

Garrison is the Library Director at the Annie Halenbake Ross Library in Lock Haven. Her book was published on Oct. 31, 2016 and is based on the ever-popular characters of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, first immortalized in fiction by Sir Arthor Conan Doyle in 1887.

‘The Twisted Blackmailer” is not the first book to craft Holmes and Watson as female characters. This book, designed for young readers, is also based in modern times during their teenage years.

Garrison, at the helm of the Ross Library, recently concluded the annual Used Book Sale, generating $5,500 from the sale. Books that remain on the patio are free to the public, she said.

The Book Club is the oldest established continuous book club in Lock Haven.
