Lady Wildcat Momentum Builds with 3-1 Win over Mifflin County
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – It was a fast start by the Lady Wildcat volleyball team, a slight stumble, then a return to solid play that earned a 3-1 win over visiting Mifflin County.
Central Mountain took the first game 25-18, then returned the favor to the Lady Huskies falling 19-25 in the second game.
In the third game, the Lady ‘Cats turned the table back on Mifflin County for a 25-17 win and then nearly duplicated that effort in the fourth game, 25-16.
“Offense played as well as we have all season and the defense and passing improved as the match progressed,” said CM head coach Scott Garman, It’s good to be at home with the support of the fans and get a ‘W'”
“Credit to MC for the defense they displayed and the fight they exhibited until the final point,” Garman said of the Lady Huskies’ effort in the contest.
Abby Lee led the Lady Wildcats with 5 aces while Emily Bartlett and Mallory Eck had 4 aces each. Evie Rembold had 3 aces.
Loni Duck had 16 kills and 7 assists for CM while Rembold had 11 kills and McKenzie Hanna added 9 more kills.
Next up for Central Mountain, is a road trip to Bellefonte on Monday, Sept. 23, 2019.
