Lady ‘Cat Tennis Romps over Shik, 5-0

tennisBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Without missing a step, the Lady Wildcat tennis squad had another perfect day on the court with a 5-0 sweep of Shikellamy.

With a bit of a shakeup in their normal lineup, the Lady ‘Cats to allow more players some varsity experience.

Carolina Carpenetti dispatched Shik’s Melanie Minnier, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles followed by Olivia Anastos at No. 2 singles defeating Lady Brave, Kiersten Strohecker, 6-1, 6-0. At No. 3 singles it was Kati Kwiatek dominating Shikellamy’s Anne Norris, 6-1, 6-1.

In duobles action, Natalie Brown and Jesse Piergallini picked up a 6-0, 6-0 shutout win over Shik’s tandem of Olivia Weaver and Kelly Sprenkle at No. 1 doubles. Gianna Renzo and Claudia Gundy picked up the final win for CM at No. 2 doubles with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Kylie Stahl and Brynne Herrold of Shikellamy.

The win takes Central Mountain to 8-1 on the season and will return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019 when they will host their home tournament with Altoona Area, Indiana Area and Mifflin County. Play will begin at 11 a.m.
