Clinton Junior All-Stars Fall to Morrisville, 6-0
BERWICK – The Clinton Junior All-Stars took a hit in their second round game of the Little League Softball state championships falling to Morrisville, 6-0.
While Morrisville earned a shut-out win, they didn’t totally dominate the game. The District 21 champs had a bit more good fortune with their hits finding the creases and gaps in the Clinton defense as they slowly pulled away. Conversely, Clinton put the ball in play nearly as often but struggled to find a weakness in the Morrisville defense.
Morrisville never earned more than 2 runs in a single inning but kept churning out enough hits and runs to extend their lead for the decisive win.
Clinton managed to load the bases twice in the game but fell short putting across any runs.
Madi Toner led the way for Clinton at the plate with 2 hits, while Adalyn McKeague, Maddie Hardy, Kelsey Burrows, Hana Styers, and Audrey Walker all had one hit each.
McKeague allowed 10 hits while going the distance in the circle as well as 4 walks while striking out 10 Morrisville batters.
Clinton will drop into the lower bracket and face Fairchance, the District 9 champs from southwestern Pennsylvania on Saturday, July 13 at 3 p.m.
