Lady Buck Mistakes Costly in 18-4 Loss to CV

FARWELL – It was a tough day on the field for the Lady Buck softball team as Cowanesque Valley came to town and rolled up an 18-4 victory over their hosts.

The Lady Indians were way out in front, 12-0 after the top of the third inning when Bucktail finally began to battle back when Rachel Goss led off with a singe, then Raileigh Isaacs beat out a fielder’s choice, reaching base safely and advancing Goss to second. Goss would score on a sac fly by Emily Cross. Myka Poorman came to bat and drove a deep fly ball over the center girls fence for a 2-run homer to plate herself and Cross with Bucktail still trailing, 12-3.

Then the death knell came in the fifth inning when Cowanesque Valley put up 5 more runs in the top of the fifth inning.
