Lady Bucks Topple CMVT, 13-1
BLOOMSBURG – The Bucktail softball team took its powerful show on the road Thursday and returned home from Bloomsburg with a resounding 13-1, five inning win over Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech.
The victory put the Lady Bucks at 16-1, 13-1 in Mid-Penn play. The CMVT Rams fell to 7-11 overall.
The Bucktail offense continues to bounce back as the regular season nears its end. Eight different players contributed to their 11 hit total, led by Tessa Cowfer’s three singles. Myka Poorman had a double and single and Rachel Goss a double. Singles came from Jordan Burrows, Emily Cross, Emma Poorman (with two RBIs), Raileigh Isaacs and Kayli Casper who had three RBIs.
Emily Poorman went one-third of an inning, giving up one run, in the circle and Myka Poorman logged 4.2 shutout innings, giving up two singles and picking up seven strikeouts with no walks.
Next up for Bucktail is a home game, 11 a.m. this Saturday, with Cowanesque Valley (2-8). Montgomery remains in a virtual tie with Bucktail in the Mid-Penn, the Raiders 12-1 in conference play, 14-2 overall. The Lady Bucks sit atop the District 4 Class A standings.
