Bucks’ Slow Start Against Rams Costly
BLOOMSBURG – The Bucks traveled west to to face Columbia Montour Vo-Tech tonight. Though, Bucktail fell behind early, then battled back valiantly, they up short to fall to the Rams 69-62.
The damage was done in the first quarter when CMVT outscored the Bucks 20-6. Then the Bucks found their range and kept stride with the Rams in the second quarter at 18-all, still trailing the hosts 38-24 at the half.
The Bucks came out firing in the third quarter and tried to close the CMVT lead with a 19-12 effort, with the RAMS leading 50-43. In the final eight minutes it was a draw with both teams adding 19 points to their totals with CMVT maintaining a 7 point lead for the 69-62 win.
Gavin Becker had a team high 29 points for Bucktail that included 7 three-pointers and a 4 of 6 free throw effort down the stretch. Devin Serafini scored 11 while Alex Intallura had 7, Zachary Pick, 6; Anthony Pentz, 5 and Gabriel Conway, 4.
The Bucks move to 4-6 overall, 2-5 in conference play.
Bucktail will next host Sunbury Christian Academy on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019.
