Undefeated Danville too Much for Lady ‘Cats
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – It was another tough task for the the Lady Wildcat basketball squad as they hosted undefeated PHAC power, Danville, falling to the Lady Ironmen, 64-38.
In the early going, Central Mountain held their own against Danville only trailing 15-11 at the end of the first quarter. Then Danville picked up the pace to expand their lead to 33-21 at the half.
Then the Lady Ironmen put the game away with an 18-5 effort in the third quarter and sealed the deal edging the Lady ‘Cats 13-12 in the final period for the 64-38 win.
There were some bright spots in the game for CM with Alyssa Fisher scoring a team high 14 points, 12 of which came from outside the arc. Quinlynn McCann had 11 points in the game including a 7 of 10 effort from the penalty stripe. Avery Baker scored 6 points for the Lady ‘Cats while Morgan Wetzel was 3-4 from the foul line for 3 points. Madyson Smith and Katie Burrows had 2 points each for CM.
The loss takes the Lady Wildcats to 0-11 overall and 0-6 in PHAC play.
Central Mountain will next hit the road to Milton for another conference game on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019.
