Lady ‘Cats Fall Short with BEA, 38-25

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The Lady Wildcat basketball team battled step-for-setp in a non-league contest with visiting Bald Eagle Area for three quarters, though they lost pace with their guests in the final eight minutes coming up short to the Lady Eagles, 38-25.

Both squads battled evenly in the early going with CM holding a slim 19-18 lead at the half and the score was still knotted at 24-24-all after 24 minutes of play. Unfortunately, the games are 32 minutes in length.

In that fateful fourth quarter BEA put up 14 points including a 5-for-11 effort from the penalty stipe along with 4 field goals … one from downtown. The Lady Wildcats had a different fourth quarter experience where they could only produce a single point from a 1-of-6 effort on free throws and couldn’t connect from the field at all in the last period.

Quinlynn McCann led the Lady ‘Cats with 8 points followed by Morgan Wetzel with 6 and Mia Kopysciansky with 4. Avery Baker dropped in 3 points while Summer Flanagan and Katie Burrows each had 2 points for CM on the night.

The loss takes Central Mountain to 0-6 on the season and 0-3 in the PHAC.

The Lady Wildcats will next see action when they host Shikellamy on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019.
