Penns Valley Takes Down Central Mountain, 3-0
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Central Mountain fell behind early to visiting Penns Valley, losing the first two games, then regrouped their forces to make a late run at the Lady Rams but were edges late in game 3 which gave PV a 3-0 win.
The Lady Rams made quick work of the first two games taking down Central Mountain 25-14 and 25-14 in the first two games. In the third game, the Lady Wildcats had a different attitude and slowly built a 12-7 lead over their guests. It was then that the Lady Rams started to work their way back into contention.
When the Lady ‘Cats would put up one or two points, PV would muster up two to three points. That slowly building edge was enough to finally 18-all.
Central Mountain would advance to lead by a point or two, Penns Valley would erase that lead until, going out in front 20-19. Then Central Mountain battled back to tie the score at 20-all. The score would be balanced out at 21-21 before the Lady Rams completed a 5 point run to close out the third game to finish the game, 25-21 and win the match 3-0.
Leading the way for CM offensively was Jenni Skow with 8 kills and 1 ace, Evie Rmbold with 4 kills, Loni Duck and McKenzie Hanna recorded 3 kills while Felicia Baney had 2 kills on the night. Hanna also had 2 aces and Madison Knepp had 1.
Defensively, for the Lady ‘Cats, Skow had 13 digs, Taylor Kinley with 7 digs, Skylar Falls and Hanna each had 4 digs, Loni Duck had 3 digs and one block. Knepp had a pair of digs and Baney had 1.
Next up for the Lady Wildcats is another home match with Shikellamy on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018.
Thursday’s game will also be Veterans and Military Appreciation night. All members of the military will be admitted free with ID and all fans are encouraged to wear red, white and blue.
