Mifflinburg Upends CM, 6-0 on Senior Night
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – It was a tough night for the Lady Wildcats as they fell to Mifflinburg 6-0 on senior night.
The visiting Wildcats took a 2-0 lead in the first period then added four more goals throughout the second period for the win.
Mifflinburg also held a distinct advantage in most of the metrics with a 17-1 edge in shots on goal and 4-0 on corner kicks.
Even though the CM defense allowed 6 goals on the night, the damage could have been much greater if keeper, Hailey Swortwood had 12 saves to her credit and the defensive front played strong throughout the game.
Central Mountain did threaten offensively at times but came up short at the finish. Avery Baker was credited with the lone shot on goal for CM.
Four Central Mountain seniors were honored for their contributions to Lady Wildcat soccer in pregame ceremonies. Seniors, Hunter Barger, Sloane Tressler, Elizabeth Bottorf and Makayla Brungard all played significant minutes on the night celebrating their careers before the home crowd.
Central Mountain continues their busy week with another home game tomorrow night, Sept. 27, 2018 when they host Selinsgrove.
