Samantha Lofton Still Kicking, Adding 2018 Icelandic Women’s Football Cup Title to Her Accolades
KÒPAVOGUR, ICELAND – Central Mountain’s very own Samantha Lofton now competing with the Breiðablik UBK women’s football club in Iceland helped her team to the 2018 Icelandic Women’s Football Cup with a 2-1 victory over Stjarnan on Aug. 17.
Lofton a 2010 graduate of CM was an all-state standout player for the Lady Wildcats has played in over 24 games for Breiðablik since 2017. After her graduation. Lofton extended her playing career with the James Madison Dukes and was selected in the 2015 NWSL College Draft by the Boston Breakers professional team.
Lofton then saw time with Portland Thorns FC program in Portland, OR in 2016. Then Lofton traveled eastward to Europe and next exhibited her skills with the Sunnanå SK football club from Skellefteå, Sweden. In 2017, Lofton traveled to Iceland to play for Breiðablik.
