Memorial Day Observances, 2018

BEECH CREEK – As they have for more than 100 years, area residents descended on Beech Creek for the annual Beech Creek/Blanchard Memorial Day parade on Monday, a tribute to Americans who sacrificed their lives in the fight for freedom, honoring those who fell in service to the United States, protecting the freedoms of those at home.

Monday’s parade lasted for 45 minutes and drew hundreds and hundreds of spectators who lined the Eagle Valley Road in Beech Creek, the borough celebrating its 150th birthday this year.

Memorial Day tributes were being held at cemeteries all across Clinton County. Another long-standing tradition, the parade in Loganton, was to begin at 2 p.m.
