McCloy, McCaleb Qualify for PIAA State Track Meet
ALTOONA – Both Central Mountain track and field teams participated in the District 6 AAA track meet on Thursday with the Lady Wildcats finishing fifth in the team standing and the Wildcat boys’ squad placing eighth.
Sadie McCaleb and Amelia McCloy qualified for the PIAA Track and Field Championship meet to be held in Shippensburg on Memorial Day weekend. McCaleb qualified in the javelin and is seeded 10th, while McCloy qualified in the high jump and is seeded 4th.
Girls’ team highlights:
– Hunter Barger: 6th in the 100 M Dash, 4th in 200 M run
– Alyssa Laughner: 2nd in the 1600 M Run, 4th in 800 M run
– Madison Myers: 8th in the 1600 M Run, 5th in 800 M run.
– Girls 4 x 100 relay team: 6th place (Riley Phillips, Ashley Kline, Kiera Smith, Hunter Barger)
– Ashley Kline: 6th in 300 hurdles
– Girls 4 x 400 relay team: 4th place (Ashley Kline, Madison Myers, Aylin Yakut, Sadie McCaleb)
– Amelia McCloy: 1st in high jump
– Sarah Probst: 6th in shot put
– Maykah Charles: 7th in discus
– Sadie McCaleb: 2nd in javelin
– Kelsie Buckwalter: 4th in girls javelin
– Chelsey Chaplain: 7th girls javelin
Boys’ Team Highlights:
– Kenny Jones: 4th in the 100 m dash
– Corbin Green: 4th in the 1600 m run (1 mile), 5th in the 800 m run
– Boys 4 x 100 relay 6th place (Kenny Jones, R.J. Shaffer, Seth Andrus, Austin Confer)
– Emre Yakut: 5th in the 400 m dash
– Boys 4 x 400 relay 6th place (Austin Confer, Caleb Porter, Emre Yakut, Owen Rinker)
– Joey Moore: 6th in pole vault
