Clyde Eugene “Feet” Eyer, 86, of 287 Linnwood Dr., McElhattan, went to be with the Lord on May 14, 2014 surrounded by his family.

Born in Flemington on June 4, 1927, he was the son of the late Scott and Ruth Ann High Eyer.

Feet served in the United States Marines during World War II.

On August 4, 1947 in Baltimore, he married the former Jessie Irene Smith who survives at home.

Feet was employed by American Color and Chemical as a carpenter in the maintenance department. In 1992 he retired from Hon Furniture in Williamsport.

He was a member of the McElhattan United Methodist Church.

Feet was a life member of the Wayne Township Volunteer Fire Company.

He enjoyed wood-working, hunting, fishing, and camping.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sons: Edward (Michelle) of Avis and Robert, Richard, Peter, and Donald (Sarah) Eyer, all of McElhattan; two daughters: Eileen (Steve) Payton of Mill Hall and Bessie (Chris) Engle of Lock Haven; one brother, Lee (Betty) Eyer of Nittany; two sisters: Donna Welshans of Jersey Shore and Arla Marquette of Lock Haven; seventeen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Feet was preceded in death by a son, Clyde, Jr.; three brothers: Bill, Jim, and Earl; three sisters: Betty Moon, Jane Liddic, and Darryll June Eyer; and a granddaughter, Janice Eyer.

A family viewing will be held at the convenience of the family.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the McElhattan United Methodist Church, McElhattan Drive, at 3PM with the Rev. T.R. Hardic officiating.
