Wildcat Teams Undone by Rain

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP/BELLEFONTE – Rain, lightning and thunder did in the Central Mountain baseball and softball teams while trying to get in late-season games with Bellefonte.

At the Central Mountain softball field the Lady Wildcats (15-3) were leading Bellefonte (11-8) by a 2-1 score in the bottom of the second inning when play did not resume after a third weather-related delay. The game will not be completed as both squads are scheduled for District 6 playoff games next week. CM is tentatively scheduled to play next Wednesday, district pairings likely announced this Friday.

The Wildcat baseball team was 0-0 in the second inning when lightning delayed the contest at Bellefonte and the game did not resume. For Central Mountain (9-7) the Wildcats will finish the regular season at the Montoursville tourney this Saturday. A district semi-final game is scheduled for next Thursday.
