Historical Society Brings History Alive
LOCK HAVEN – Clinton County Economic Partnership members and guests Thursday enjoyed an historical Time Out after-hours networking program, hosted by the Clinton County Historical Society. Society president JoAnn Bowes (pictured center) welcomed the group, which had a chance to tour the Heisey House Museum as well as the recently-restored Poorman Gallery on Water Street in Lock Haven. Historical Society representatives made history come alive by dressing as characters from the past.
Bowes portrayed local socialite Edith Furst, while Larry Ferree portrayed Lock Haven founder Jerry Church and drew laughs when he asked people to sign a petition against placing towers on the courthouse. More than 60 people enjoyed refreshments and a chance to network with fellow members of the business community.
The Partnership will host an open-to-the-pubic “Eggs & Issues” breakfast meeting on Thursday, Nov. 16, featuring Ron Reynolds, Vice President of Clinton County Operations for UPMC Susquehanna. Reynolds will highlight UPMC’s new role in the greater community and what the future may hold. Next month is the Partnership’s annual Holiday Party, slated for Dec. 13 at Haywood’s on the Green in Mill Hall. Contact the Partnership at 570-748-5782 or at coordinator@clintoncountyinfo.com to make reservations for both events.
