BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP — Not surprisingly, the weatherman has dealt a blow to the start of spring sports in Clinton County, both the Bucktail and Central Mountain baseball and softball teams affected by postponements early this week.
Bucktail has had four events scratched so far: a Monday trip for baseball and softball to Sayre and a Wednesday visit to Canton for baseball and softball; no makeup dates have been announced.
Both Buck teams are off until Saturday, each with a 1 p.m. game at Benton High School.
Central Mountain has lost two games so far: home baseball Tuesday with Loyalsock postponed until Thursday, May l, and home softball Tuesday with Clearfield moved to Monday, March 31.
Next up for Central Mountain, weather permitting, will be a home softball game with Hollidaysburg at 4:30 p.m. Thursday and an away baseball game at Hollidaysburg Thursday, game time 4 p.m.
Central Mountain tennis is also scheduled for Thursday, home with Tyrone at 3:45 p.m.
