SOUTH RENOVO – Clinton County Community Foundation has given Bucktail Medical Center a $20,000 grant to complete the center’s sprinkler system project. The grant will be used for the sprinkler system for the acute side of hospital.
Last year the foundation gave Bucktail a grant to install the sprinkler system on the nursing side.
The next phase will be to install sprinklers in the acute win, the emergency room and outpatient ancillary offices – the lab, radiology and other service areas.
The cost for the entire project to install a sprinkler system throughout the facility is nearly $100,000 said the center’s Chief Executive Officer, Thomas Foster.
The sprinkler system installation is mandated by the federal government for nursing homes. The deadline to install the systems was 2013, Foster said. He also said the contractor is Clemmer Fire Protection from the Snow Shoe area.
He thanked Morton for his input to the foundation on Bucktail’s behalf.
