CM Volleyball Tops Penns Valley 3-1
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The Lady Wildcat volleyball program found their way back to the winning side of the court tonight by staying ahead of a scrappy and competitive Penns Valley squad for a 3-1 win.
Central Mountain, now 3-5 on the season, had a sluggish start falling 28-26 in the first game then edged the Lady Rams 25-21 in game 2.
In the third game of the night, the Lady’ Cats found their stride and bit of a swagger as they pulled away from PV 25-16.
In the fourth game, Penns Valley kept pace with Central Mountain knotting the sore on 6 different occasions. Then after breaking the 19-all tie late in the contest, CM started to slowly pull ahead finally earning a 25-21 win.
The effort was across the board for Central Mountain with everyone making valuable contributions.
Offensively, earning kills were: Vanessa Soo, 9; Elaina Eckley, 6; Rachel Kibler, 8; Madalyn Bashor, 3; with Jenni Skow and Pamela Gunsallas each contributing a pair of kills.
Maegan Miller, Bashor and Soo all had 4 aces each with Eckley adding 3 more.
Defensively, Miller led the Lady ‘Cats with 32 digs followed by Ecjley, 21; Makenna Bittner, 14; Kelsie Buckwalter, 10; Kibler, 4 and Skow, 4.
CM won’t have long to savor the win as they host Shamokin, tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016.
