First Quality Looking at New Tissue Machines

Lock Haven Believed a Possibility for Expansion

LOCK HAVEN — First Quality Tissue has announced expansion plans and a company release said some announcement is due within several weeks on the location of two new paper machines.
First Quality currently operates two machines in Lock Haven and two in Anderson, SC; another machine is currently being installed in Anderson.
Asked if he knows if Lock Haven is in the running for one of the new machines, Mike Flanagan, chief operating officer for the Clinton County Economic Partnership, would say only, “We continue to work with First Quality on a number of possible projects.”
The First Quality group of companies began operations in Clinton County in 1989 and at last report had some 1,500 employees at a variety of facilities in Wayne and Castanea Townships, making the Great Neck, NY-based company the largest employer in the county.

Great Neck, NY – First Quality Tissue, a privately held leading manufacturer of ultra-premium towel and tissue products is pleased to announce the following strategic expansion plans.
The company has made plans to add two additional TAD paper machines with an estimated annual capacity of 140,000 tons at locations to be announced over the next 30 days. The startup of these machines is expected to be Q3 2015 and Q3 2016 respectively.
The installation of our already purchased ATMOS tissue machine, with expected annual capacity of 70,000 tons is well underway with an expected startup of Q1 2016 at the existing Anderson, SC site.
