Kenneth Michael Knott – Obituary
Kenneth Michael “Mike” Knott, Ph.D., 72, of Mill Hall, died February 19, 2014, at The Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
He was born to the late Kenneth and Martha Knott on December 14, 1941, in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
Mike graduated from Altoona Area High School, received a Bachelor’s degree from Mansfield University, a Master’s degree from Bucknell University, and a Ph.D. in education from The University of Pennsylvania.
He was an Army veteran.
He spent his career at Montoursville Area School District working as a teacher, assistant principal, and curriculum coordinator until his retirement in 2003. After retirement, he owned and operated a small pizza and sandwich shop in Lock Haven and most recently owned numerous rental properties in the same town.
He enjoyed golfing, going to Penn State football games with his friends and family, and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Patricia McCord. He is survived by two children: Kathy Asche (Mike) of Milton; Kurt Knott (Abby) of Darien, Connecticut; six grandchildren: Derek, Lauren, Olivia, Vivian, Quinton, and Lydia; his partner, Brenda Johnson, and her family; and his former wife, Frances Knott, and her partner, Rodger Cook.
A private memorial service will be held at the family’s convenience.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the SPCA.
