Mary Eberhard – Obituary

SOUTH RENOVO – Mrs. Mary Eberhard died on Monday, Feb.10 at the Williamsport hospital. She had been in ill health for several months. She was born in South Renovo, July 17, 1927. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Confer, along with three brothers, two sisters and her husband, Charles A. Eberhard, preceded her in death.
She was a longtime devout member of the Free Methodist Church, serving in many positions including Christian youth crusade director; she taught Sunday school and she represented her Church in Bradford, Pa. during the special council meetings. In the past, she served on the Church board as a secretary/treasurer. Each year she attended the Church camps in Lamar, PA. where she enjoyed renewing friendships with old friends.
Mary enjoyed doing embroidery for family and friends, gardening and traveling.
She had two sons, Gary C. Eberhard of Lock Haven, Pa. and Charles W. Eberhard (Carol) of Jersey Shore, Pa.
Along with six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
For the past 10 years she was a resident of Bucktail Nursing center, participating in the activities that they offered. While enjoying her stay there, she made many close friends.
A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, Feb.13 at the Christian Community Church in South Renovo. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. followed by the service at 11 a.m. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Richard Colvin. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation in Mary’s name be made to the Church.
A private burial service will be held later for the family.
