Everhart Hot, Central Mountain Falls at ‘Toona
ALTOONA – Central Mountain senior Tyler Everhart was on fire in the Altoona Field House Monday night; Everhart put on a shooting show, draining six 3-pointers on his way to a career-high 30 points but it was not enough as the Wildcats fell to Altoona, 65-58.
Central Mountain trailed by double-figures for much of the game but a second half run got the visitors to within 38-29. But Mountain Lion senior Manny Span hit four straight 2-pointers to push the lead back out to comfortable double-digits and the home team was never in jeopardy again.
The 6-5 span posted a double-double, 29 points and 16 rebounds. Wes Jolly chipped in with 12 points for Central Mountain.
The loss dropped Central Mountain to 6-13, Altoona moving to 9-8 with the win.
The Wildcats were to host Mifflin County on Wednesday of this week and Huntingdon on Friday.
