SOUTH RENOVO – Bucktail Medical Center has contracted the services of Encore Rehabilitation Services giving the center five full time therapists. The service provides physical, occupational and speech therapy.
Kevin Ransom, Director of Social Services at BMC and Bobbi J. Winn, Encore Rehabilitation program manager at Bucktail said recently that Encore services means consistent therapy is available full time at the center from therapists Chad Friedman, Ginger Bolalin, Courtney Mason and Cory Taylor. Bolalin is a traveling therapist who is at Bucktail until a permanent full time person is available.
Ransom said Bucktail’s older community demands consistency and that the therapy services at Bucktail is of the same level as in area hospitals. It is available to patients, BMC residents and to outpatients from the community and surrounding areas.
Winn said that by having five full time therapists on board, a level of friendship develops between patients and therapists that is comfortable for patients and aids motivation.
Ransom said Encore Rehab sevices began at Bucktail in November but that because long time therapist Karen Johnson was no longer at BMC there is some concern rehab services are not available. They are. “There was never a day without therapy services. It’s always been here and will continue to be here,” he said.
He said Encore is now providing all physical, occupation and speech therapies to those seeking such services. Currently Encore is providing the highest level of services to current residents of Bucktail Medical Center’s Skilled Nursing Facility. They are also seeing patients from the acute setting and out patients. Winn s heading the service and brings years of experience to Bucktail Medical Center and its patients.
The therapy services are another means of serving the public as well at BMC patients and residents, Ransom said. It is an invaluable resource to the people that find themselves in need of therapy services each day. For more information or to make an appointed contact BMC at 570-923-1000.
