Shik Edges Lady ‘Cats 37-32
NORTHUMBERLAND – The Lady Wildcat basketball team had a road trip to Heartland foe, Shikellamy, Saturday.
Both teams struggled finding the hoop in the first quarter with Central Mountain taking a 4-2 lead into the second quarter where both teams found their stride to knot the game at 16-all at intermission.
The difference maker came early in the second half. The Lady Braves kept up the pace of their momentum of the second quarter in the third quarter outscoring CM 12-7 for a 28-23 advantage heading into the final period where the Lady ‘Cats kept pace with Shik, both teams adding 9 points to their total for the with the hosts prevailing 37-32.
Leading the charge for the lady Wildcats was Averie Pringle with 10 points followed by Julia Novosat with 7, Lydia McCaleb 6, Grayson McCloy 4. Alexis Anastos scored 3 points with Dayna Fourney adding 2 points to the effort.
